Cheap Christmas gift ideas can keep more money in your pocket. Purchasing gifts for Christmas does not have to break your budget or your bank account.  There's no rule that says that you need to spend 50 bucks on everyone's gift.  While you might want to get something a little extra special for your mom, buying Christmas gifts that aren’t so expensive for others is not a bad idea.

Gift baskets are always a good idea for a cheap Christmas gift.  The beautiful thing about gift baskets is that you can make them as expensive or cheap as you want.  Cheap ideas for gift baskets would be the Movie Lover’s Basket (popcorn, drinks, movie rental gift card), the Coffee Lover’s Basket (coffee mug, small flavored coffees), the Candle Lover’s Basket (several votive candles and a couple of votive holders), and the Tea Lover Basket (flavored teas, tea cup, and sugar packets).

Giving coupons that promise you will cut someone's lawn, baby-sit, or cook dinner is a way to offer your time instead of your cash.  If you have a special skill or talent, like photography, oil change, etc. these too,  would make a great idea for a gift coupon.  For example, you could offer free computer repair for year, clean someone’s house, perform house repairs, or any other service you can do.  Simply print up some coupons on your computer and print them out. Cut them apart and place them in a pretty Christmas card.

Kids are also easy to buy cheap Christmas gifts for.  As every parent knows, there are times when you buy an expensive gift and all the child wants to do is play with the empty box or the wrapping paper.  Make a trip to the dollar store; purchase five or 10 different items, and put them all in a big box.  It costs you very little, but the kids think that they have a great treasure.  Art supplies are also a good idea for a cheap gift at Christmas for the kids.  If you have a younger child, you could even get coloring books and crayons and they would be happy.
